Isles of Scilly

Every year, usually during May, our Year 6s spend 4 nights under canvas on the Isles of Scilly.  We start the adventure with a flight to the Islands from Land’s End.

During the week they not only do camp chores like washing up, they also have a fun filled week and do activities such as speed boat rides, fishing, boat trips, visiting other islands, coasteering, orienteering, sports with the local children, and lots, lots more.  We always have really good feedback from children and parents about this trip, we put on activities which the children choose, it is a lovely setting, and is one of the final times all the children are together as a group before they leave St Mewan after their 7 years with us.

After busy fun filled days, there is always evening entertainment, usually a campfire on a lonely beach, with songs as the sun goes down.

The adventure finishes with a trip on the Scillionian boat, bringing us back to the mainland, where we return home very tired, but with long lasting lovely memories.
