We have been very busy since the beginning of term, rehearsing songs for a wedding in St Ives on Saturday 21st September. A group travelled together by train and we sang five songs during the ceremony, before enjoying refreshments outside, overlooking the bay. This was one of the best performances the choir has given, and certainly one of the most enjoyable! Thank you to everyone who came along and helped to make the day so special.
The choir’s next performances will be at another wedding on 19th October and at a concert on Friday 25th October at Trevarthian Road Church Hall.
New members are always welcome, you will find us in the St Mewan School Hall at 6.30pm on Wednesdays during term time.

We have been busy recently, singing at a wedding in Charlestown Church and for the residents of Trevarna at a coffee morning. After Half-term, we will be learning a specially written song for the St Austell Festival Week celebrations, in July. The choir also has another wedding and the end of term concert to prepare for.
More new members have joined in the last few weeks. If you would like to come along we meet at 6.30pm in the School Hall on Wednesdays during term time. You should soon be able to hear our singing here.
We sang at Barclays Bank to help raise money for the Dare to be Daniel appeal. Click here to see the Cornish Guardian report of the event.
We are very proud of our Community Choir, which was formed in 2010 and now has over 70 members. The Choir was originally formed to provide an outlet for parents and members of the wider School community to sing, and to create an opportunity for our Year 6 children to continue their singing once they had moved onto secondary school.
Since then the membership has grown steadily, and the Choir has built up an impressive repertoire. Past performances have included concerts at the School and at other venues as guests of local bands, at local community fund-raising events, and even at weddings.
Rehearsals are held during term time in the School hall, from 6.30pm to 7.45pm, and we usually see 50+ members each week. If you enjoy singing and would like to join the Choir, please come along and you will receive a warm welcome.
